My phone is a phone . If I ever get one of those newfangled things, though, that's a great idea and one I hadn't thought of.

The Singapore SIM card has no international roaming fees. Just the 8 cents (16 cents peak) local calling charge, and the call to the US is free (as well as about 8 other countries).
