OLCI is not open as flight is being held by airport
The newest excuse (that I have heard) now goes as follows, "The flight is not open for check-in yet because the flight is being held by the airport while special requests are sorted." Okay, I can sort of accept that. But it's been hours now. Now many special requests can there be for one little AMS-LHR flight?
On the other hand, I cannot accept it considering BA's new seating policy. They tell the customer they cannot pre-select a seat unless they are elite or morgage their home to buy a full-fare ticket, adding that OLCI provides the perfect opportunity to get a good seat. If that is the case, OLCI should be open at 24 hours, period. Airports should be told to sort their special requests in advance, or face some sort of penalty. This seems like a case in which policy simply does not fit the reality, or the reality has to be altered to fit the policy. Neither is happening at BA it seems....
So frustrating... I am waiting to do OLCI when I could be doing something fun outside. Or even just going back to bed.
