I had a similar reaction after staying there earlier this year. As a PLT, I didn't receive an upgrade to a suite (although the hotel was sold-out for an event hosted by the university), and no lounge access but was given a cert for a complimentary breakfast in the hotel. The staff, IME, were extremely helpful including meeting some special requests prior to my arrival.
