I find it difficult to believe when someone flies on an AC ticket (first 3 numbers 014) with an AC 6 digit locator , AC flight number (002), operated on AC metal that AC does not know who is or was on board their aircraft.

If, as you suggest, this occurs because some other airline, ANA in this case, does the flight check-in then there is something seriously wrong with the way AC manages their flight manifest.
