For those who have flown out of TJ, despite their international flights to NRT, Havana, and soon to be Shanghai....that place is very much like a bus station. Single level, chaotic, people carrying cardboard boxes as luggage, minimal to no security, useless employees, scammers everyhere, etc. But so convenient so intra-mexico flights for San Diego residents, which is why i love it.
As a DL PM on AM, TIJ really ought to be a pretty decent experience. Rarely any significant line at AM's Premier check-in that I have ever noticed and the Salon Premier lounge may not be the greatest in the world but is comfortable enough for an airport that size and the lounge staff has always been good about announcing boarding at exactly the right time to walk from the lounge to the plane. In fact I have rarely paid much attention to what goes on in the terminal outside the lounge.
I agree with
MRMEX though that the outcome of being bumped would most likely be..... not good.
