As someone pointed out, the fundamental problem you are having is - campus health services- I went to women's college and no matter what you went in for- sprained ankle, sore throat, whatever, the response was always the same " Could you be pregnant?" . They were obsessed with the topic. They were also exceedingly hesitant to prescribe anything and this was 15+ years ago before we heard so much about presecription drug abuse. I think that your best bet is to pay to see a family practice doc and explain the situation truthfully.
As for what to take, Lunesta was totally ineffective for me ( Hence the phrase used in our house"Lunesta gives no resta"). Ambien is ok for most people to use occasionally. Trazadone is great but can have a hangover until you are used to it. So, whatever you get- try it out at home for a couple of nights.
