That is quite a steep price to pay. Have you considered one of the HNL fares out of MSP listed on the Mileage Run Forum ($440 or so, all-in). You could then pay several $100 each way for a Rev-Up to upgrade into an available BF seat (which may be chancy, given that this is peak travel season to HI). Even purchasing a ticket to MSP, this would likely work out cheaper than your Paris idea, and should also net you the necessary 9Kmi.
