I was staying at the Swissotel when Raffles the Plaza turned into the Fairmont. A couple of my colleagues were actually staying at the Raffles/Fairmont. The change happened literally over night. All the signage switched over, all the literature, and even the amenities in the bathroom were changed. I ran into a poor woman wandering outside asking people where the Raffles the Plaza was the morning of the change.
