Cambria Suites and new CP benefits

I have recently stayed at one of the new Cambria Suites (MSP) and they are very nice. Better than most Hilton Gargen Inns as a comparison. Very trendy, upscale furnishings and very comfortable bedding and matress. Two big flat screen TV's, DVD and CD player in the room, upscale amenities in the bathroom.

Nice coffee bar, normal stuff complimentary, other options at a charge. Nice morning buffet and evening light meal options both for a fee. Decent bar. This one had heated indoor parking - a real plus at MSP in winter. Very nice pool and whirlpool, upscale fitness center, 24 hr snack cubby. Really very nice overall.

I just booked another two nights at a Cambria in Green Bay at Christmas, called the hotel directly and they upgraded us to a two bedroom Suite with two Kings and a pull-out. All for the AAA rate of $89.

This brand is a considerable step above almost anything else Choice has in the US.

On the topic of upgrades for Platinums and Diamonds, I have been upgraded several times at properties where they are available. Some do it on thier own, others if you ask. At the lower tier properties it might just mean getting a fridge and microwave, at others it can be a suite (albiet a low class suite)

I'd like to see them offer a free breakfast for Platinums and Diamonds at the Cambria - like Hilton and Marriott do, that would be very nice indeed.

Try a Cambria Suite, you will change your mind about the quality of Choice hotel options. I also think that the newer Comfort Suites are much nicer than the older ones. The one at BDL is very nice.
