DEN has a very slow shuttle, it probably only goes from the airport every half hour. Denver staff are poorly presented, and extremely unmotivated.
Just to give a different perspective, I have rented from Thrifty and Dollar (they use a combined shuttle) at DEN at least 3 times without any problems. I never had to wait too long for a shuttle. As a Blue Chip, I have been upgraded without asking from a compact to an SUV and/or a minivan (which I acutally preferred because it saved me from having to rent a ski rack).
Maybe I've just been lucky.
