I think Blumie and brp right about this one being dependant on the reason for the missed connection, but I think that especially with such an award –.which is very liberal provided you stay within the rules – they would tend towards the sticklier side. Of course, codeshares on non-OW airlines are not allowed on OW awards, but your question would be the same if (and I'm sure this is the case somewhere) a OW airline itinerary was 2-3x weekly instead of daily.
