I have been disgusted trying to find out information on early morning AMS-LHR/LGW flights in the past disrupted by mistbanks or the liquids scare terror day when nobody has been available in NL (which as I am cognisant of certain Little Nederlander aspects I'm not terribly surprised) or in the UK (an hour earlier) or 1-800-AIRWAYS in the States (closed at 1 am Eastern time). Shambles.
Given that "alternatively you may contact any of our oneworld alliance partners" is oft-repeated tripe, pity I didn't ring up Hong Kong then. Oh. No. Wait. Common sense, sorry.
Whilst I agree with all you have stated above (although I will quickly shy away from your "Little Nederlander" comment), I can't believe BA as a premier airline can't be bothered to provide the service.
As
ThatT1Feeling mentioned, CX offers 24 hours and so do QF and AA. In fact I have even called IB late on a Sunday evening and even they have answered the phone!
I seem to recall a day not that long ago when many UK companies provided some 24/7 coverage, but these days it seems to have been paired back.
Whilst the internet is great (as I think we all agree

), you can't do everything without speaking to an actual human.
