Have you considered AMS instead? I did this route in November and benefitted from a heavily discounted A ticket on the outbound.

IME flights to NRT are cheaper from AMS and it's much closer to LHR giving you the possibility of a longer turnaround time (and many more flights). You should allow 1.5 hours between flights at AMS if with luggage.
