BA Website does not seem give low prices when a stopover in LHR is imputed, do these need to be done on the phone with BA or with a travel agent?
Amex can price these trips properly. I have not made direct bookings with BA since I travel mainly to BKK ex LIN and MFU availability is likely to be non existent and poor value IMHO. BA Italy can probably price correctly.

I understood from other threads that ex FRA can be better value for F, I have not noticed any great F fares ex Italy recently. F fares do tend to allow a free stopover (I have paid c. £2100 ex LIN in the past booked into A and including free stopovers in both directions).
