Not all flights arriving at LIN have buses to the terminal. I have arrived on stand at LIN using AF IIRC. BA flights never arrive on stand IME.

There is actually a secondary security check at LIN too (which seems rather hit and miss) just as you approach the gates used for the non-UK flights. LIN does not have a liquids/gels restriction at the main security point, neither do they insist upon laptops coming out of their bag.
