Thinking about my above post, the computer knew the CNG/MSP flight was delayed due to weather and therefore computed that no compensation would be due. Maybe what it couldn't track was that CNG/MSP connection was due to a maintenance cancellation of the DTW/PHL flight. Therefore, common sense could still prevail.
