On FLightaware anyway, it isn't a strange number. Go there and put in
AAL3824 and you will see listed "Eagle Flight" EGF824.
3824 sounds better then 824 but it shows as KCI-DAL-AUS on AA.COM late afternoon/evening.
As it is NOT listed anywhere as a flight to be sold DAL-DFW, it is not for revenue but for positioning.
