For a comprehensive answer you'd have to inform your travel profile.

LH - Excellent Program specially designed for customers travelling Business or First Class. Miles for these customers go from 200% to 375% base miles. All count as status miles. Once you get 100.000 miles you are at the top level for two years !

UA - Excellent Program with lots of Partners. Awards and Upgrades are easy to get. Being ExPlat with AA I would send a letter to UA with a copy of your current AA card and last statement. You're prone to get Premier Exec from start, which would allow you to check-in at Bus.Class counters, get Priority Orange Tag on your luggage, access to Star Alliance Lounges and access to Economy Plus, plus all the MP Perks (100% mileage bonus and 4*500 upgrades/10.000 miles)
