I never check out of a hotel. They leave the bill under the door in the morning and I leave. I think you may have problems, since you are taking you bags wiht you and then may return, at 2 or so. They will have already cleaned the room and think you checked out.
In addition to requesting late check-out, perhaps I should also speak with the front desk and/or manager on duty to emphasize that I might return? I really would like to shower and change out of my suit before 8 hours worth of flying.
