Yes, it's the $59 power cord. It's straight DC to DC, not to be confused with the 65/85W AC to DC power adapters.

Using the AC/DC adapters on a DC empower equipped aircraft (like UA's 747s) would require an additional DC/AC converter and would most likely exceed the 75W limitations of UA's empower outlets - resulting in the seat's power outlet shutting down.

The bottom line is that if you want to use a MacBook on a UA 747, the MagSafe Airline Adapter (part # MA598Z/A ) is your best solution.
