Once the ticketing finalized I called the Elite desk and asked about upgrading and was told that there were no upgrades available. Today I called again (and didn't have my PNR# with me) and found out that my OP # was not on my itin. The agent added the OP# and I upgraded immediately on both flights.

I can't recall the CO.com ticketing system dropping my OP# before. I know I was logged in because I didn't have to enter any pax or billing info.
Just to follow up on this, it also managed to send a copy of my itin to my mom (who is one of my saved travelers on my CO.com account), confusing me even further. The copy of my itin did not go to her until last night about the time I was on the phone with the elite desk (and reflected the processed y-up) so it might have been something the phone agent did by mistake.

Now I'm trying to explain the concept of MRs to my mom.
