Yes, because you generally leave the tap in the middle, so it doesn't come out at the highest temperature.

Reminds me of when I bought the current house. For a new home they had the stupid separate taps (Grrrr!!). We were in the office one Saturday and one of the sales reps was working with someone who wasn't pleased with the non-mixer taps. Of course being a cookie cutter Bryant home, they were reluctant to change the taps (as they buy all the stuff in bulk).

She was trying to get the change put through but said she would have to try and argue with head office that they needed mixer taps due to religious reasons
