Interesting to hear this. I landed in OAK at about midnight this morning, and there were really strong crosswinds coming in -- I actually thought we were going to have to go around or divert to SFO.

I remember thinking to myself on the drive home that if any day were to have landings on 1L/R, it would be today. So, neat to hear the report that that was actually going on.

I've never actually landed on 1R myself, but have been intrigued by it ever since seeing this photo of an ANA jet on airliners.net:
