The HI and HS miles earning does bug me... I do, however, switch from Points+Fixed Miles for Hilton, HGI, ES, and DT to Points+Points for HI and HS stays. The one exception is for Quadruple DL Miles... 400 miles for a HI or HS stay is more reasonable than 100, but 2k for Hilton, ES, DT, and HGI is even better.
