Another main difference is while HS and RI usually have an evening reception that can pass as a meal, they do not have full service restaurants. While ES's have booze during their evening receptions they rarely have any substantial food (I've seen one that had chicken strips)... but they do usually have a full service steakhouse. They go by different names (Cattleman's in Tulsa, Barcelona in Miami) but serve the same menu consisting of Omaha steaks and sides.
On personal/awards stays I'd rather have the HS space, full kitchen, and substantial meals at night. On the company dime I'd rather have the free booze (can't expense bar tabs) and full-service restaurant.
I've also seen more HS's with full hot breakfast similar to Hampton... not just a cold/continental consisting of cereal/muffins/pastries.
