Speaking of which, i've got a short hop from BOS to JFK tmr, with a connection onwards to NRT. The weather looks fine for that so i'm not concerned, however i'll be returning in a weeks time via ORD.
I'm thinking there's a reasonable chance that ORD might have weather issues.
I'm not particularly concerned about that (if i'm late back to work by a day and I can't do anything about it - oops!) but just to satisfy my curiosity what would the general procedure be... If they're in NRT and know there's an ice storm heading for ORD, I assume they'll head back and divert as necessary as they'd rather the plane be in the general vicinity of the destination rather than waiting a day on the wrong side of the world.
Anyone want to take a guess as to where I might find myself in a weeks time?
