First leg ran behind because of late arriving aircraft (not weather related). Missed connection in ATL. Politely asked CRC to rebook; they said it had already been done at my destination. I was booked in Q originally and this time -- rebooked in Q. I asked why I wasn't rebooked in Y -- she said 'if the computer does it, it automatically chooses Y. If an agent does it, they may or may not select your original fare class'.
OK, fine. I politely ask to be rebooked in Y then -- no dice. I politely ask for an upgrade on the next flight, seeing as how I was upgraded on my original flight which DL caused me to miss and maybe she could rebook me in F on the next flight showing F2 -- again no dice. She told me I'm #1 on the upgrade list. I told her I guaranteed her those seats would be gone in minutes. Sure enough --15 mins later -- it's F0.
Look, I know and understand the whole "If I want F, pay for F" thing. But there are times when I believe they could take care of a PM a little better -- especially when the delay is not weather related.
On a side note -- I'm also just a little disheartened about a confirmed upgrade on my return -- having to change my original outbound thus resulting in an entirely separate ticket -- and DL not being able to toss my upgrade from one res to the other.
Thanks for the opp to vent.
Does it not occur to you that those 2 F seats went to PM's who were originally booked on your rebooked flt? Should THEY get bumped down because of an IROPS on YOUR original flight?
And now you change your return and want to go to the front of the line again screwing someone out of an F seat on a flt?
What am I misisng here?
