If you're REALLY REALLY stuck, try and find a local company that will get you from KTN to Prince Rupert (YPR) or Terrace (YXT), and then Hawkair (hawkair.ca) have cheapish flights to YVR and get you on your way back to LAX via YVR. Just a note, Hawkair serve the south terminal at YVR so allow a little more transfer time as you'll probably have to cab it from there to the main terminal
