I've just checked my brother in online for his JNB-AMS flight. I was amazed to see most exit row seats wide open and selected 21C for him.

I was expecting to be informed of an additional charge for this row (as I've been reading here), but nothing. Check in completed and no mention of any additional charges.

My brother has no status-I didn't even enter any frequent flyer info into the system.

Has he been lucky or will he be presented with a bill at the airport?

Couldn't print boarding pass-has to be collected at check-in desk, but I think this is normal for JNB.
