I'm currently at the New Orleans Marriott on Canal for the big SACS convention down here. As the Concierge is closed for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, I asked the front desk employee for breakfast coupons Saturday and she gave me one for a free comp breakfast. I was able to enjoy a full American breakfast buffet. On Sunday, I asked another employee for them and after inquiring about them in back, I was told they were only for plats.

I started to just wait in line and ask the other employee (who gave it to me yesterday) for them. I guess it varies by the Marriott associates. I would think that if Gold members have access the lounge like plat members, they should have access to free breakfast in the restaurant as well.
