I have not flown KLM for years. I was recently forced to fly KLM in Y for some personal trips and came back very impressed with their service in Y. The seats and food were excellent. I flew SFO-AMS-AMS and other long haul segments from AMS and was uniformly impressed.
Now, step across to the KL board and see the long running thread about ops and scheduling issues with their MD11 fleet - part of which they fixed by cutting out one flight a week from the AMS-HYD run.
If you are on a KL MD11 flight, delays and cancelations seem to be a fact of life
