Given the arguments advanced by Smirnoff and jhm in this thread, I presume that you would contend that all connecting longhaul passengers from Europe should expect less because they pay less for their tickets than LHR-originating pax.
Certainly, there are some who use these fares as a cheaper way to a longhaul ticket, but I'd argue that most people have neither the time nor inclination to go out of their way for such a ticket. The majority of passengers flying FRA-LHR-XXX are German (or French, or Italian, or whatever) residents who are simply purchasing the BA product (which as pointed out, has to be priced so as to make the LHR connection competitive). Are you seriously suggesting that these passengers should expect poor service because of the fare they were offered? What nonsense.
If this is what those passengers are to expect, then BA will have a hard time picking up corporate contracts and business travellers.
