You can do that. I once got screwed a few years ago by chase. I needed ot get a certian amount of points before hte program was changing and they were losing a ritz carlton deal. They didnt credit me all the points and I lost 2 extra free nights. Anyway I strongly suggest you get the starwood amex card personal or business. They give you a point bonus for signing up I think. Anyway they usually give large lines if you have a credit and for every 40K points you chartge you will get 10K extra into most major airlines. So basically you are getting 20% more miles.
