I didn't notice if anyone mentioned it but the $50 fee, as of Dec 1, is US or Canadian depending on where you apply from. The paper process allowed anyone to pay $50 US with a certified cheque but a Canadian credit card was charged $80. Then GOES had it as $50 US by credit card from any side. So my daughter applied the day when the C$ was US $1.10 and the charge was $46 CDN - a record all time low. When I got my card in October in YYZ they didn't have TD cards and didn't know what they were. I used the Whirlpool Bridge and the toll is paid via the NEXUS card. If everyone had a NEXUS card every lane would be a NEXUS lane and everything would be faster. But NEXUS is still rare and will always be - it costs time and money to get it. The psychological boost is countered by the worrying that is in every other post about being more closely scrutinized after all.
