He is already booked in F for this Atlanta trip; could I add the NY Helicopter to his return flight? I'm never accurate when I try to calculate mileage including the elite and fare class bonuses, and I'm having difficulty even figuring out how to book the helicopter at all.

if its a refundable F fare, you can easily add the helicopter. you could probably just call CO and have it done. or you may be able to book directly with US heli but you want to be 100% sure it counts as EQM's when booked. God knows what rules CO has regarding the heli flights. i believe its 500 EQM each way.
or you can consider a reroute EWR-IAH-ATL-EWR or possibly EWR-CLE-ATL-CLE-EWR. you'd more than likely have to search multi city. or even something on NW or DL.
just tried to add the US heli segment to your dates. without it, its $716 RT before tax. add the heli and its $924. and that will give you 1000 extra EQM's. this is the best deal in comparison to the multi city search results which all end up in the $1100++ range.
