Seatmate's bag protrudes into my legroom - What would you had done ?

So last night I just flew a CRJ flight from PHL to YYZ on Air Canada.
The legroom is already tight on the CRJs...I travel with a laptop backpack and a rollerboard carryon....I put the carryon in skycheck...So I just have my backpack with me on the plane...I put the backpack up in the storage space, as I like to stretch my legs during the flight.

When we were boarding, the guy in front of me, had a computer bag, which he put it up in the storage, also a smaller carryon rollerboard, which he put under the seat in front of him...and he took off he overcoat and put in the overhead storage..
I didn't think anything of it, until I sat down to my seat, and yes he was my seat mate...I was in the C(aisle) seat and he is the A(window) seat. His rollerboard that he put under the seat in front of seat in front of us, was taking up half of my side of the foot space...As such, there was only space to stretch my right left under the seat...My left leg was blocked by his carry-on...

Its a short flight(1hr), so I don't really mind too much...But this guy didn't even ask if he can place his bags over to my side....
I asked him if he can move/fix his bag, and all he kept saying was 'sorry..sorry'...I mentioned that he can skycheck his rollerboard like everyone else...but still just kept saying 'sorry sorry'.....

now, the flight was already late couple of hours...So i was tired, and just wanted to get home...so i didn't make a big fuss over it...and let the bag there...But be sure that if his bag was in my space, then I had my left leg on his bag....I used it as a foot stoll throughout the flight....and the arm rest, I was being a hog with that too....protruding over the armrest...If his bags were over my space, then I will be over his space...

The point was, if he asked nicely before putting his bag there, I will most likely just let him.....or that why does he think he is so special that he doesn't have to skycheck his rollerboard, while others with similar size bags skychecked theirs?

What would you have done? nothing? ask the flight attendant to move the bag?
