CT-UK - as I said above before, I always go in the smoking room since it's normally much quieter. On Wednesday night I got there quite early too (17:30) for my 19:50 flight and it was fine that side, packed the other side. There were also actually very few people smoking in there - not enough for it to fill with smoke or anything, that's for sure! (From 1st Jan it ceases to be a smoking room so I bet this little trick will no longer work).

Finally there is a Wifi hotspot that lets you roam from BT Openzone too so I was able to take over 4 chairs in the corner (about 5 other people in there had multiple chairs each), plug in the laptop, sink multiple G&Ts (no car worries my side, thankfully! ) and actually do some work too ^

If you are OK with 1-2 people smoking around you, could be worth a look.
