Question Can I checkin through my luggage at YVR to HKG with transit of LAX over 8 hours?
I will take AS from YVR to LAX then CX from LAX to HKG by two seperate tickets. And the transit time in LAX will be over 8 hours.

Could I checkin through my luggage to HKG at YVR AS desk?

(Will this flight be regarded as US domestc one? Is over 8 hours transfer in US airports regarded as stopover?)
