AA elites do not get lounge access when flying domestically in North America (AA has some weird definitions of what is and isn't domestic), where as QF Gold will, so this is something to consider.
AAdvantage members cannot earn and redeem on BA between the US and the UK, so this is another limitation. AA PLAT, whilst easy to obtain by way of a challenge, is a lot harder to retain than SG with QF.
