Exclamation Another reason WN open seating is superior to reserved seating

I flew a segment on US Air this morning, and came away enlightened why WN's open seating is far superior, once again.

I checked in, on seat 6D, an aisle.

I boarded with group 4. When I got to my seat, the seats 6D, E, and F were occupied.

I spoke to the flight attendant, that someone was in my seat.

She checked, and found out that the following had occurred:

Female pax on seat 6A had moved to 6F, because a couple with a lap child on seats 6B and 6C had wanted a window seat, and she didn't want to be next to the baby.

Then two female pax who had 6E and 6F had sat down on 6D and 6E, taking my seat.

The couple with the child were now sitting in 6A and 6B, and they had their baby on 6C. The flight attendant asked the couple to put the baby in their lap, and asked me to take seat 6C, right next to the father (oversized) with the baby in his lap. The couple in 6A and 6B didn't look very happy at having to give up the seat, and I didn't want to fly a business segment with a crying baby right next to me.

I could have demanded everyone move and I get my original 6D seat back, but it was too much work and I didn't want to create a scene.

I asked the FA if I could choose any other open seat. She said "there's still people boarding, so you can take seat 6C or stand by the door, and once boarding finishes, you can choose an open seat".

I chose to stand until everyone seated, and then I sat at an open window (I normally prefer aisle).

Thanks to the shuffling, I didn't get to keep my reserved seat, and I had to wait to be the last one to choose a seat.

No thanks, US Air and your reserved seating system.

With WN's system I could have simply moved on to any open seat and positioned myself.

Reason 92,235 why WN is superior to US Air. ^^@:-)@:-):-::-:
