A work associate is travelling later this month on SQ with her partner and kids MEL-SIN-DXB. They have a 23¾ hours transit at SIN (15:30 - 15:10+1). This is the start of a much longer journey.

They are staying with friends overnight in SIN and would like to check their main luggage all the way from MEL to DXB, just taking carry on with enough stuff for two days.

She contacted SQ (Australia?) and was advised that they would have to collect their checked luggage luggage at SIN and recheck it the next day before flying on to Dubai.

I've looked at several related posts in this forum and it seems that this is incorrect. A few recent posts indicate SQ would store the luggage at Changi if booked through. (e.g. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...01&postcount=2)

Can any of you experienced SQ travellers shed please some more light on this?
