Int'l/Int'l connection at DEL - 75 minutes, seperate tickets - is it possible?

Hello everyone,

I want to go to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in January, and it is an absolute nightmare getting premium class award seats between Europe and S.E.A. on such short notice. That's why I got the idea of redeeming miles for a ticket to India and paying my own way down to SIN or BKK.

I currently have the following itinerary on hold with LH (in F ):

FRA-MUC-DEL, arriving 07:40am

DEL-FRA, departing 03:25am.

In between these two, I want to buy a ticket on Jet Airways which will have the following flights:

DEL-SIN, departing 08:55am (75 minutes after arriving from MUC)
BKK-DEL, arriving 21:05am (6 hours, 20 minutes before departing for FRA)

So here are my questions:

1. Is it possible to do an airside transfer at DEL (in other words, can I connect without having to clear Indian immigration)?

2. Is DEL set up to forward bags automatically on international connections? How are loss-rates for connections through DEL? It would be annoying to be without my luggage when I get to SIN.

3. Is there an airside transfer desk at DEL so I could get my boarding pass for my onward flights (on 9W and LH, respectively)? Or could I check in at the gate for the next flight? I noticed Jet only offers online check-in on domestic routes - I would feel a lot better about this connection if I knew that I would not run afoul of a check-in deadline (what is the check-in deadline, by the way?).

4. Assuming an airside transfer is possible, is 75 minutes enough time? I've heard about infamous fog delays at DEL in winter, what time of day do they happen and how much of a problem are they really?

If need be, I'll just stay in DEL for a day and fly out the next morning (the airfare on DEL-SIN//BKK-DEL becomes 100€ cheaper if I leave one day later), but then I would have to pay for a hotel, transfers and an Indian visa. I've been to DEL before, so I wouldn't be seeing anything new. If it's in any way possible, I would like to just do the trip in one go.

What would your recommendations be? Do you think it can be done? Do you have other options you would recommend?

BTW, the tickets I'm currently looking at are 480€/700USD (with the 75 min connection) and 380€/550USD (staying overnight in DEL and leaving the next day instead). I'm willing to entertain options of up to 550€/800USD.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies!
