For Those Who Prefer to Drive, Avoid Motel 6.
Here is the full text of the letter I received in response to my complaint.
We appreciate your comments regarding your experience at our Motel 6 property in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. For the comfort and safety of our guests and employees, our Corporate Safety and Security Department requires the registering guest to present positive identification. This is a standard policy throughout our properties nationwide. At some of our properties, due to local ordinances or with cooperation with local government, we may require valid photo identification and we may also photocopy the identification presented by the guest to help ensure the safety and security of all our guests.
A copy of your comments and our records have been forwarded to the Regional Management Team and our Corporate Safety and Security Department. In an effort to bring consistency at all of our properties with regard to our I.D. policy, both teams have reviewed the statute and are working together so that all our properties will conform with the law accordingly.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We welcome and value your opinion regarding our policy. We are most appreciative of your views and hope that you will consider Motel 6 as your preferred choice for future lodging.
Sincerely,
(Name Omitted)
Guest Relations Administrator
I don't think any comments are needed, except to state that I told them to go pound sand, went to Baymont Inn next door and got a room without showing any ID. When I got home, I sent a letter of complaint, for which I received the above-posted response.
