Depending on what study you read and/or believe, red is the color of aggression. Apparently reds can induce fits of rage. Maybe that's why NW has shied away from putting red in the cabin.
On the other hand, red is also associated with people eating more food at a restaurant. Maybe NW should put red in their cabin to drive sales of their (awful) snack boxes?

I just think an airline's colors should be reflected inside the cabin, as well as outside. I mean, you just wouldn't expect granny-blue seats inside an aircraft with a great color scheme like NW's.
Wouldn't charcoal seats with (remember, not "bright") red piping or some other kind of accent look awesome? I remember seeing a pic of the interior of some European airline's aircraft online, which was done similarly, and thinking it was REALLY attractive.
