as a CO plat, i find it hard to compete with CO flights to LA and SF. its so much cheaper, watched the monday night football game. Damm, why cant continental get newer planes. The coach (minus the wider seat and free food) was far superior to continental's domestic first. Once they get some sort of elite upgrade program and internet on the plane, i think a switch might be in order. Time for CO to step up its game!
Probelm is Virgin America is still so small, with such a small fleet, if there is a cancellation, there is no back-up. A co-worker of mine was stranded in EWR a couple weeks ago when a VA plane broke ( even happens to the new ones) and no spare available. They sent him off to AA (after a rather testy exchange with an inexperienced, 19-year old new hire) in a coach middle seat on a flight 7 hours later, and it cost him a day's work.
