The way I think would work the best is to have 4 trucks. 2 on either side fore and aft. They pull in start spraying, cover their 4th of the aircraft, then pull backwards and let the next plane pull in. Like a Deicing plane wash. No maneuvering of the trucks and a pretty simple process. That's my 2cents.
When I was GO in BOS we did our own deicing and dual deicing is common. There are procedures for 4 trucks and even JFK is set up for that configuration on their pad. I worked a trip today out of ROC and we too waited about 2 hours for deicing. This is because we use the contract service, and they were down to one truck... For ALL the airlines... Good times...
