Newbie lounge access question

Hi Flyertalk-ers,

I have a newbie question about *G lounge access. I'm 1K on United and fly mainly international longhaul so I generally get access to the RCC. My question is, if I'm flying on a UA ticket and have a choice of *G lounges, can I go into any one? Specifically, I fly quite a bit through LHR T3 for UK<->US on United. There's a SAS *G lounge right after the main departure waiting area and on the way to the UA RCC. Can I choose to use the SAS Lounge even though there's a RCC around the corner? What about in SFO where's there's a SQ Lounge as well as a UA RCC?

thanks to all the experts!
