Thumbs up Delta.com Itinerary Enhancements (Eff. Wed., Dec. 5, 2007)

Effective Wednesday, December 5, 2007, delta.com will be implementing new Itinerary enhancements (the good kind!) that will introduce several new options for Delta customers (any or all details listed below are subject to change and/or being delayed).

The following new options will be introduced:
  • New Itinerary search options are being added:
  • Electronic ticket number
  • Credit card number including the name on the card
  • Ability to email the ET Receipt.
  • Ability to download Itinerary details into MS Outlook.
  • Adding a link to a pop-up box with content explaining why Check-in may not be available (e.g., outside the 24 hr window etc).
  • Presentation of schedule changes within the itinerary will be cleaned up. Rather than showing every schedule change that has occurred, only the current flight will be shown along with an expandable link that shows the original booking when clicked.
  • Ability to add a DL SkyMiles number if no SkyMiles or OAL FF number exists.
  • Ability to request or cancel certain Special Service Requests (SSR) (e.g., Wheelchairs, Special Meals).
  • Display OAL FF number if it already exists in the reservation.
  • Currently when logged in, a list of itineraries is shown with a “Manage Trip” link next to each itinerary. When that link is clicked it displays a new page called “Itinerary Details”. This is being replaced with a “Trip Details” link. This link does not go to a new page, but rather, expands on the same page to show the flight details.
