I no longer trust housekeeping, it's clear that they are paid very little and therefore care very little. The past 6 weeks I've been in various hotels in Europe, US & Asia and they are all consistently poor at basic things:
- 1 room had 2 conditioners, but no shampoo
- 1 room had NO glasses or paper cups in bathroom
- 1 room had no water bottles, even though they always give me water and the HK carts are stocked with them.
- 1 Room I left a note and tip asking for mouthwash.... came back no mouthwash
- 1 Room I left a note asking for morse shower gel.... came back to see housekeeping cleaning and reminded them... still no bath gel.
Of course they will polish the glasses vs wash them or bother to get fresh ones from the kitchen/dishwasher.
You'd think they would have a checklist or a supervisor checking on their consistency?
I'll say this is not a problem exclusive to Starwood, nor the US. Glad to see Sheraton is trying to address it with the paper cups.
