You will be surprised how often CX overbooks their MEL-HKG flight. This is particularly the case during school holidays and/or university breaks. Based on my (limited) experience, I was always asked to volunteer my seat and fly on a later flight on the same day or to another port and catch the CX flight from there.

I think you mean $240 AUD right? Either way, it is slightly less than we I have received or offered before ($250 to $270).


FWIW, I only took their offer once though.
